Monica A. Sanchez was born in Bogota, Colombia and raised in Weston, Florida. She did not speak English when she arrived to the United States in 1998. Upon her high school graduation at age 16, Monica entered Broward College to obtain her Associate’s degree. After earning her A.A., she entered Florida International University and obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and International Business. She graduated Magna Cum Laude.

Throughout College she worked as a Manager for Transportation Logistics. After graduation, she entered the family business in transportation and served as President. She moved to Tampa in 2006 where she continued running her family business until 2011. In 2012 she started law school at Western Michigan University Thomas M. Cooley College of Law in Riverview, Florida as a part-time student. During law school she began working at Sanchez Valencia Attorneys At Law.

Monica was President of the Student Division of American Bar Association. She also had a one year old Sofia Loren and gave birth to Estefania Elle in 2014. Despite going to school, working and having a family with two daughters, she graduated Cum Laude in January 2016 with a Certificate in Litigation. She is currently in preparation to take the Florida Bar exam.

Monica lives in Tampa, married to attorney Gil Sanchez with three beautiful children.
